For Patients & Families

Is there any cost involved to use this network?
Our dispatch service is 100% free, and our volunteer donors will never ask for money. We strictly prohibit the buying or selling of blood. However, please note that hospitals or blood banks will likely charge their own standard administrative fees for testing, processing, and cross-matching the blood.
I am not sure what specific blood component is needed. What do I select?
You must consult your treating doctor or the hospital blood bank immediately. We are a dispatch service and cannot advise on medical requirements. Ensure you have the exact component (e.g., PRBC, Platelets, SDP, Whole Blood) verified on the official hospital requisition form before submitting your request.
How quickly does my request get processed?
Our automated system dispatches WhatsApp alerts to nearby donors almost instantly. For Critical ICU cases, notifications are sent immediately to the closest available volunteers based on the GPS coordinates of your hospital.
What is the foundation's medical liability?
The Lakshmi Onkar Memorial Foundation acts strictly as a communication bridge. We do not collect, store, or test blood. All medical procedures, including cross-matching, screening for infections, and managing potential transfusion reactions (such as TRALI), are the sole responsibility of the medical facility conducting the transfusion.

For Volunteer Donors

How is my personal privacy protected?
Your privacy is our highest priority. Your exact GPS coordinates and personal phone number are heavily secured in our backend database and are never published online. Phone numbers are only bridged directly to a verified patient attendant when you actively accept an emergency request.
How often will I be contacted?
You will only receive WhatsApp alerts for emergencies within your specified radius that perfectly match your blood group. If you successfully donate, our system places your profile on a mandatory cooldown period during which you will not receive any emergency alerts.
Who can register to donate?
Anyone between 18-65 years of age, weighing at least 45kg, and in generally good health can register. You should refrain from donating if you have had a tattoo, major surgery, or certain vaccinations within the last 6 months. Final eligibility is always determined by the medical officer at the blood bank.
What happens when I arrive at the hospital?
Once you accept a request, you will coordinate directly with the patient's attendant. Upon arrival, the hospital blood bank will ask you to fill out a standard donor questionnaire, check your hemoglobin, and take a small sample to cross-match with the patient before the actual donation begins.
